EXP-01: Fall From Grace

This is part of my ongoing weekly and sometimes bi-weekly game design experiments. Every week I come up with a game idea and prototype it out.

Overview

  • Play the familiar classic but from a different perspective - your goal is to now make sure that a Stack player loses.

Controls

  • Press ESC to pause
  • Every turn you get 3 energy points - use them to play 3 tetrimino cards
  • The cards you play are queued up to drop for the Stack player
  • Pressing “End Turn” begins Stack player’s turn
  • The sequence in which they drop is the key for your strategy!

Future improvements/thoughts

  • Cards with special abilities 
  • Cards with more than 4 blocks (would cost more energy)
  • Implement punishment for just skipping through the turns and finding perfect cards
  • Every time the Stack player would finish the line, a damage would be dealt
  • More difficult AI in future levels
  • Shop where new cards can be bought with experience points earned from “battle”
